Counselling in the community
What we do
Counsellors are available to support individuals who have mental health or substance use concerns as well as family and friends who are affected.
Our counsellors can provide individual, family, couples, and group counselling. Counsellors aim to match treatment intensity to each individuals’ unique journey of mental wellness and recovery.
You can receive counselling for various issues including but not limited to:
Alcohol and Drugs Anxiety and Stress Mental illness Relationships Smoking Gender and identity Eating disorders Fear and phobias |
Grief and Loss Depression Parenting Sexual, physical and emotional Abuse Suicide Anger Family issues Gambling |
Who we are
Our counselling teams may include:
- Social workers
- Nurses
- Psychologists
- Psychiatrists
- Youth outreach workers
- Occupational therapists
- Recreational therapists
Although each of these professionals may not be located at the site nearest you, they may be available as consultants to the professional you see.
How to access this service
To connect with a counsellor in your area, you can visit a Doorways clinic or contact intake for adults. A referral from a health professional is not required; you can reach out to our intake staff when you are ready to start your wellness journey.
