NL HealthLine 811 is a free, confidential, 24-hour telephone line, staffed by experienced registered nurses in our province who can offer health advice, information and connect you to resources and local services. NL HealthLine 811 is managed by the government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Doorways
Doorways provides rapid access to mental health and addictions counselling services ‘one session at a time.’ Doorways Counselling Services are now being offered in-person, via telephone and/or video sessions. Some locations also provide same-day or next day services or appointments by phone. Walk-in counselling services are available without an appointment or referral.
If further counselling is required, staff will work with you to provide access to additional services and supports.
Doorways is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911 or the Mental Health Crisis Line at 811, or proceed to the nearest emergency department.

St. John’s
Eastern Health advises individuals seeking Doorways (St. John’s) telephone and/or video counselling services to please call 709-752-4903 to discuss counselling options and arrange a session. Doorways (St. John’s) is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ( last appointment booked at 6:00 p.m.)

Our navigator is a central point of contact for individuals, family members and stakeholders throughout the province to:
- problem solve so that you can figure out next steps;
- consider options with you to help find the right mental health or addiction service; and/or
- help you to make connections.

Need someone to talk to? The Warm Line offers non-emergency, non-crisis telephone support for people in the province who are living with mental health issues. Consumers’ Health Awareness Network Newfoundland and Labrador (CHANNAL) provides support programs for people with mental illness in the province. Trained peer supporters are non-judgmental and have firsthand knowledge.

Provincial Opioid Dependence Treatment line
