Psychiatric Emergency

What we do

Psychiatric emergency services are available in any emergency department. The emergency department is staffed on a 24-hour basis. A health professional such as a doctor or nurse will assess all patients who present with mental health and addictions concerns. The department also has access, when the need arises, to 24-hour on-call coverage by a psychiatrist or psychiatric staff.

How to access this service

Go to the nearest emergency department. You do not need a referral.
