Geriatric Continuing Care Unit

What we do

The continuing care unit is an inpatient unit that provides a residential environment for patients with mental health issues that have complex behaviors requiring enhanced care that cannot be provided in the other continuing care settings. The unit’s health-care team works in partnership with the resident’s family to improve the individual’s quality of life. This unit is sometimes referred to as 4SW.

Who we see

Clients are usually 65 years of age and older.

How to access this service

Clients can be admitted to the continuing care unit via Waterford Hospital or Eastern Health’s clinical efficiency unit.
